Since the latest update to wordpress and wordfence we have been experiencing huge amounts of downtime and slow speeds due to database connection errors. The site generates 503's after a couple of hours of word fence being activated. As soon as it is deactivated manually via FTP then the site instantly comes back up again. Upon reactivation everything seems fine for a couple of hours and then wham, the 503's start flooding in again until manual deactivation. I have absolutely isolated this issue to Wordfence which we have running on a multisite version of Wordpress.
I currently have the plugin deactivated and would like to run the site on it but can't afford the downtime at the peril of my bosses not being happy about horrendous amounts of downtime!
