Hi,
I tried to ENable basic caching on 5 different websites and it succeeded on only 1.
For all websites, Wordpress is installed in a subfolder of the domain root meaning the .htaccess file is not in the Wordpress installation folder.
Site 1) Carinbaars.nl: succeeded.
- Linux shared hosting
Site 2) Bouwjewebsitezelf.nl: failed
- Linux shared hosting
- Same host but different server as site 1
- Error message: Problem disabling caching. We could not disable caching because you have code in your .htaccess file that could not be removed by Wordfence. You need to go in and remove any Wordfence code from your .htaccess file yourself. Then return here and disable caching. The error we received was: fopen(/xxx/xxx/domains/mydomain/public_html/subfolder//.htaccess): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
- it says failed to disable caching while I try to enable
Site 3) Cornelissen.nu: failed
- Linux shared hosting
- Same host but different server as site 1
- There is no confirmation or error message, it looks like basic caching is enabled, but if you re-open the settings again it's still disabled.
Site 4) paulsport.nl: failed
- Linux shared hosting
- Same host and same server as site 3
- There is no confirmation or error message, it looks like basic caching is enabled, but if you re-open the settings again it's still disabled.
Site 5) xenonis.nl: failed
- Windows shared hosting
- Different host as the other sites
- There is no confirmation or error message, it looks like basic caching is enabled, but if you re-open the settings again it's still disabled.
Thanks
JP
