Dear Wordfence Support,

We are currently facing persistent connection issues from our production server to your endpoint noc1.wordfence.com. As a result, Wordfence is unable to connect, and we receive the following error in all hosted WordPress installations:

We received an error while trying to activate the license with the Wordfence servers: There was an error connecting to the Wordfence scanning servers: cURL error 7: Failed to connect to noc1.wordfence.com port 443: Connection timed out

We have carried out the following diagnostic tests:

  • The server is able to resolve noc1.wordfence.com to IP 52.25.185.95.
  • A telnet to port 443 on wordfence.com and noc1.wordfence.com successfully establishes the connection.
  • A curl request to https://www.wordfence.com returns an HTTP/2 202 with the header x-amzn-waf-action: challenge, indicating our IP may be challenged or blocked by your AWS WAF.
  • A verbose curl request to https://noc1.wordfence.com hangs after TCP_NODELAY set, receiving no further response.

There are no outbound restrictions on our server, and no firewall rules are blocking traffic to your domains or IPs. We have also submitted a Wordfence diagnostic report from our user account.

Please verify if our server’s public IP has been blocked or rate-limited and advise on how to proceed.

Server public IP: 82.194.91.91
Wordfence diagnostic sent via the plugin interface.

We appreciate your assistance.

Best regards,
