Dear Wordfence Support,
We are currently facing persistent connection issues from our production server to your endpoint noc1.wordfence.com
. As a result, Wordfence is unable to connect, and we receive the following error in all hosted WordPress installations:
We received an error while trying to activate the license with the Wordfence servers: There was an error connecting to the Wordfence scanning servers: cURL error 7: Failed to connect to noc1.wordfence.com port 443: Connection timed out
We have carried out the following diagnostic tests:
- The server is able to resolve
noc1.wordfence.com
to IP52.25.185.95
. - A
telnet
to port 443 onwordfence.com
andnoc1.wordfence.com
successfully establishes the connection. - A
curl
request tohttps://www.wordfence.com
returns anHTTP/2 202
with the headerx-amzn-waf-action: challenge
, indicating our IP may be challenged or blocked by your AWS WAF. - A verbose
curl
request tohttps://noc1.wordfence.com
hangs afterTCP_NODELAY set
, receiving no further response.
There are no outbound restrictions on our server, and no firewall rules are blocking traffic to your domains or IPs. We have also submitted a Wordfence diagnostic report from our user account.
Please verify if our server’s public IP has been blocked or rate-limited and advise on how to proceed.
