I do not believe this IP is a legitimate Google Bot: 173.194.99.134 http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2006/09/how-to-verify-googlebot.html It might be one of their other services though.

Sorry to jump in but I was having the same issue. It was a conflict between wordfence and SEO Ultimate. so @gaffer.wiles if you have it, just deactivating and see if it fixes the issue.
