Wordfence should support FIDO/FIDO2 as a 2FA option. That way it could support security keys like the Yubikey.
I’m currently using this plugin as my 2FA solution and it supports FIDO: https://wordpress.org/plugins/two-factor/

Hi
I have some subfolders with WordPress installations in them under the main site and I don’t want them to get scanned via the main site.
How do I exclude these sites from being scanned?
Thanks

I am testing out the 2FA functionality in the latest Wordfence, but having issues. Whenever Wordfence is active, the login prompt is failing with the following message:
ERROR: An error was encountered while trying to authenticate. Please try again.
This is happening for all users, regardless of if they have enrolled in 2FA.
There is nothing in the web browser console log, nor anything in the server error log.
I have disabled every other plugin and the only thing that restores login functionality is disabling the Wordfence plugin entirely.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
I have wordfence on my website. When I try to copy the public html files and bring up the website on a stagging mode using another URL, I can’t and keep getting 500 error. The web hosting said it could be because of the wordfence configuration that you can’t do this. Please help me on this.

I received a response and replied to it 5 days ago. I’ve had no response from support since then. I know that support is busy, but this is the third time I’ve been abandoned and this is the only way I can get someone’s attention back to my issue.
Please help.

All of my sites are unable to update the rules, saying that my site can’t connect to Wordfence’s server. My hosting company (Innohosting) confirmed they are not blocking WF’s IP address and did a traceroute to 69.46.36.x (we did .28 mostly) and the connection times out after a connection through above.net. I tried a traceroute from my home machine and it also died (got one step beyond before timing out). Wondering if WF is having server issues or if anyone else is seeing this issue. I’m dealing with a particularly odd hack of my WP sites and it would be helpful if I could run a proper scan in WF.

I get notified of a file included in the auto_prepend_file and that I need to contact this forum if I don’t recognize the file mentioned.
I looked for it, but it’s not a part of my file structure.
Is it safe to move on or can anyone help me out on this?
Or just override?
I am happy to provide more details in private mode.

Hi,
I´m starting the plugin configuration and my hosting server uses Apache 2.4 with a custom build of uwSGI.
The plugin recommends suPHP, is that OK?
Thank you in advance

My server error logs are filling with the following error message, generated by WordFence:
stream_set_timeout() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in …/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/modules/login-security/classes/controller/time.php on line 98
Please advise on how to fix this problem. Thank you.

Hello,
If I get a premium key for my new site and I put the key in my main domain, will the same key work for the subdomains? Or do I need to buy a key for each version of my site? The main site is a multi-site, if that makes any difference.
It is set up as:
maindomain.com
subdomain1.maindomain.com
subdomain2.maindomain.com
The site is not public yet so you will not be able to access it. I tried to activate the site on your dashboard but it will not recognize the plugin is activated. I suspect because it is not yet publicly available?

Hello,
First, thank you very much for this great useful plugin!
I would like to report the following issue, as identified together with SiteGround 2nd tier support:
Issue description as sent to SiteGround tech support:
1. We have just created a staging website using your staging tool.
2. However, when we try to create a package using the Duplicator plugin, we get a 403 error – Forbidden action, by the Wordfence plugin.
3. This doesn’t happen on our main website, where we created a package using the Duplicator plugin with no issue.
Here is SiteGround’s 2nd tier support answer:
Thank you for contacting our Help Desk.
Following the above-mentioned steps, I was able to reproduce the issue on my end.
It does appear that the 403 error comes as a result of the Wordfence firewall configuration. This could be as a result of the fact, the Staging technology does not actually change the WordPress URL but uses an Apache module to “simulate” the URL staging1.xxx.xxx (for example).
However, since I wasn’t able to find any clues regarding the issue on the server’s end, I believe that you should contact Wordfence developers to provide you with an alternative solution.
What I can confirm for sure is that we cannot change the Staging technology and its method of work. Alternatively, you can deactivate Wordfence plugin, since your Staging is already protected and it cannot be accessed.
Can you help?
Thanks!
Noam

Just a quick question. I am running a multisite with this construction:
mysite.com
mysite.com/site1
mysite.com/site2
mysite.com/site3
Should I network activate Wordfence or should I activate it on each seperate site?

This is how Wordfence looks, even with all plugins and theme disabled: http://prntscr.com/oab5yt
I am an experienced user but I don’t understand what’s going on. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. Tested with different browsers, cleared cache, etc
Please help!

I would like to suggest a feature. Many of us use the Cloudflare platform. I had an incident where my site was under SQL injection attacks and I received the email from Wordfence. I noticed CPU spikes in my server an immediately activated Under Attack Mode of Cloudflare to solve the problem. It would be great if you could integrate a feature that activates the Under Attack mode automatically when Wordfence notices an increased attack rate on a site using the Cloudflare API. You could also let us specify the duration for which the Under Attack Mode is being kept active.
Thank you!
