Malware Scan warning icon

After scanning, instead of a check mark above ‘Malware Scan’ there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it. This is something new and is showing on 2 sites I’ve checked so far.

I’ve checked the documentation, but don’t see anything about this. What does this mean? Is there a setting I need to change?

7.4.4 released 1 day after 7.4.3

Is this right, 7.4.4 was released only 1 day since 7.4.3; and it is only to cover the UI issue (and 7.4.3 was only to address the InfiniteWP bypass vulnerability). Is it normal to have to release updates so frequently? If not, what happened?

Wordfence – Dashboard White Screen

I have recently updated a clients site, updating WordPress and all plugins to the latest version.

I found that the dashboard won’t load, no pages in the dashboard work, just a white screen. The front-end of the site loads fine though.

When I check console in the dashboard there’s nothing there so I have no error messages to use to help me fine the issue.

I have updated the server php to 7.3 but that doesn’t make a difference.

What else can I try? has anyone else experienced this?

When I used the wordfence assistant to remove the settings, tables etc it works and I can activate Wordfence again but as soon as I configure it the dashboard breaks again.

Wordfence has been working fine on this website for the past few years but something in a recent update has broken it.

These go on forever, with events every 5 minutes or so. If I disable Wordfence plugin, all errors cease. It’s also causing my website to reach its CPU limits and break the website. Can you please look into this? Thank you.

Malware Scan still showing Yellow

Updated Wordfence to 7.4.4. Ran scan and still have the Malware Scan yellow icon and the following message “Details: The option “Scan files outside your WordPress installation” is off by default, which means 1 path and its file(s) will not be scanned for malware or unauthorized changes. To continue skipping this path, you may ignore this issue. Or to start scanning it, enable the option and subsequent scans will include it. Some paths may not be necessary to scan, so this is optional. Learn More

The path skipped is ~/forms

Anyone else having a strange error about ‘chmod not allowed’ when trying to install the wordfence 7.4.4?

wordfence runs.
Other plugins update fine.
Site runs etc.

But I get error:
Warning: chmod(): Operation not permitted in [edited]appbuzzinga.com/httpdocs/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 168

NOTHING has been altered or changed. Very odd. Updated 11 plugins today, but this one fails??

Live Traffic

I’ve noticed a problem with Live Traffic which seems to have happened since the latest upgrade.

When viewing Live Traffic, everything seems fine.

If you leave Live Traffic by viewing something in another tab, for instance, and then return, the live traffic has stopped working. In the past, sometimes, it said ‘click in window to resume’ – that has never appeared since.

The only way to resume live viewing is to click on the live traffic link.

Wordfence all good many years. Now update 7.4.4 causing fatal error. Have deactivated Wordfence. Are you aware of post update issues?

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Hi,
the new version of Wordfence prevents Nicepage to be saved. So whenever I change anything in Nicepage design, I should deactivate Wordfence, saving Nicepage changes and than activating Wordfence again.

I hope you can fix this issue with next update.
best,
Alex

1. I have several users for the site. Should I set up 2FA for all of them?
2. I don’t have a smart phone or tablet. I have email and a laptop though. Can I still set up 2 FA?
3. If I set up 2 FA from someone else’s phone, will I need to access that phone in order to sign in every time?
4. Is the Authentication code new each time? Is there a way to access this online?

Thank you.

Wordfence has a fatal error

Today Wordfence (which had been working fine) will not load and creates the following error message:

Warning: require_once(/home/mobilecarpetshow/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/Diff.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/mobilecarpetshow/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceClass.php on line 6

Line 6 is: require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/Diff.php’);

I have checked this line against other installations and it appears to be normal.

Can you advise please.

Hi there,

I get this error when trying to manually updating rules on WordFence, ‘No rules were updated. Please verify your website can reach the Wordfence servers.’

I contacted my hosting company and they said ‘The given IP: 69.46.36.20 is not responding and appears to be not in-network. I tried to ping the IP from our connect server and local machine and both failed.’

Does anybody have any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Many thanks!

Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required ‘/home2/dibsmft/public_html/wordfence-waf.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php71/lib/php’) in Unknown on line 0

I have deleted auto_prepend reference in user.ini, then deleted user.ini, when no fix.
Looked in .htaccess. Then removed WAF section.
I have no php.ini.
Renamed wordfence-waf.php, then restored when no fix.
Renamed WF plugin folder, then restored when no fix.
I am now stuck. What should I do next?
Thanks 🙂

WordFence blocking OneSignal Push Notification plugin

I just updated to version 2.0.0 of the OneSignal Web Push notification plugin, and WordFence is blocking the code (resulting in a blank white page on my site). When I look in live traffic, I see the message “Possible XSS code filtered out for your security”.

The scripts in question are loaded via PHP files within the OneSignal plugin folder, which import javascript files from the vendor’s CDN.

Is there a way to whitelist these files so the site works again? I’m not getting an alert so I can mark these requests as a false positive.

Blocking expiration

Hello guys,

I need to know if Wordfence have the function for time expiration ?
I mean when I add a block to not be a permanent one, for example if I put a block on a IP or range of IPs, to have a block expiration for 30 days and to unblock only if that IP or someone from that range of IPs didn’t tried to hack your website for example.

Thank you

Kind regards,
