Thanks, billspd - glad it sorted things for you. But really, all I was doing was following up on the original excellent info provided by WFMattR - superb support from him.

Hello

My host doubled the size of innodb_log_file_size and the scan is still hanging.

I've done a little more investigation and notice the following:

I have one main WordPress installation in the root folder and the scan completes successfully.

I have 4 other installations in subfolders of the root installation and none of these complete, all hitting the same error decribed above.

On the option screen, the "Scan files outside your WordPress installation" is unchecked.

Thanks for your help.

I have Wordpress installed in mydomain.com/blogdir/
I have my Vbulletin forums in mydomain.com/forums/

Yesterday I set up Wordfence. Then I found there was a new error in Vbulletin. When a user quotes a post, Vbullet automatically links back to the original post. Now, those links back are to https urls - and my site isn't on a secure certificate, so all the links are broken.

I haven't touched the Vbulletin setup at all - all I've been doing is install Wordpress plugins. Could that be responsible? And if so, how can I fix this? (Deactivating Wordfence didn't solve it.)

Oh - hosting environment - Apache/Linux, php 5.4.26.

I am trying to do a periodic back up of a WP site with WordFence installed. I have exported the data base .sql file. When I try to import the .sql file into my offline/localhost I get the following error message for phpMyadmin that references an unknown column in the _wfhits

It is a WordFence component. Any idea why that is causing the import sql error message and how I might resolve this?

@Wfasa thank you for your info. i must confess though i have not had any luck with finding those files that you have mentioned. I've searched for them, but nothing is appearing.

if i try and access the site, http://www.elhockeyacademy.co.za its just brings up a white page with some writing on.

i cant access the wp control panel at all. i have even uninstalled wp from my main cpanel and reinstalled but still having the same problem.

if you have any tips or advise please let me know.

thanks

I've been using photo gallery for over a year now, but I've just discovered that I cannot save a new gallery. Each time I try to save it, or apply changes, I get an error about how the action was blocked from Wordfence's firewall. The whitelist button is there, but this is the only plugin that it won't let me click any buttons. It's like it's stuck. It does give me a partial URL though in the message, so I tried to manually whitelist it in the wordfence firewall settings to no avail.

Also, pages that already have embedded galleries are no longer displaying correctly.

Any tips on a workaround for this issue? How can I resolve this?

Hello,
I just tried to install wordfence security version 6.1.8; however, the installation process always stops at a certain point. I don't know what's the issue. So far I have only one other plugin installed, which is Beaver Builder. I deleted all the others since in this forum I read that the issue might occur when there is not enough disc space. I would really appreciate your help :)

Update.

I discovered that the database had two sets of table rows for WordFence. One with a camelCase (mixed upper and lower case) and another that was all lower case. Not sure how this happened.

Saw a closed thread about this via google search
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/duplicate-tables?replies=9

Used the tip in that thread to check the box in the WF options near bottom to enable "delete WF database tables on plug-in deactivate.

Deactivated plug-in and the camelCase table rows were gone. But the all lower case versions remained. Re-activated plug-in and the camelCased versions re-appeared.

I took the risky step of selecting the all lower case iterations of the WF table rows and dropped them from the database.

Thankfully, the site looks and functions as it should. I was able to export the database and import it into my localhost where I maintain an offline backup of the site.

So.. problem resolved. Wanted to put this up in case it may help someone with similar problem.

1. Yes, no difference.
2. No firewall
3. Connected to server, no issues.
4. No

Asked Server support to take a look and they have noted:

JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.0
_admin.js?ver=1.0.0:47 Uncaught TypeError: jQuery(...).sortable is not a function

I created subdomain fresh WP install and WF works fine on it.
I have also tried deactivating all other plugins whilst I went through a fresh WF install, no joy. I'm going to switch theme and try fresh install next.

Any thoughts?

I still have the issue that the firewall is not working despite having a local php.ini and the entries in the .htaccess file. How can I debug it ?

Since you're not on a SiteGround server that might be a completely different problem. I would recommend opening another thread with as many information about the issue as possible.

I don't manage to get the Firewall to work: I have installed a local php.ini file in the wordpress directory, the .htaccess file has also been generated by the Firewall setup process (includes the prepend of the waf file), I also added the SetEnv PHPRC /home/*****/public_html/php.ini in the .htaccess

I host myself the wordpress. The url is http://guruplay.tv

Help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Everytime I fo to the WordFence firewall page, it shows To make your site as secure as possible, take a moment to optimize the Wordfence Web Application Firewall:

How can I see if the firewall is activated and running?

Hello

My scan doesn't complete and I get the following error:

Scan Engine Error: Wordfence could not start a scan because the cron key does not match the saved key. Saved: 653b3196ce269d82f3c1f14 Sent: 3dd5579752a48e87a81e84e Current unexploded: 1466410402,653b3196ce269d82f3c1f14

I've stopped the scan manually and restarted it and the error persists.

Thank you for the great plugin!

Hi,

Is this data constant or it keeps changing? I saw different data across the the two incidents.

If this is the way the file functions please close the ticket. I will change the permissions of the folders as recommended by WordPress.

I have a problem configuring the firewall but will start another thread on that if I can't resolve it myself.

Thanks,
Mayank

Hi I run the paid Wordfence, Over the last few days I have noticed multiple failed login attempts every few minutes and it is through xmlrpc.php

and they're all from different IP addresses, from different locations around the world. so It never get blocked or locked out or throttled as they are all from different IPs and locations.

I can see they are trying same username for few days and then other same username for few days. but they are from different IPs and locations every single time.

Can advise any solution?

Thanks

Hi, when I try to enable firewall with the alternate method on SiteGround hosting with PHP 7.0.7, I retrieve the following error, both in back-end and in front-end

Note: I substituted my username with the word username in the path above
