Hello,
I have created a custom capability, “manage_wordfence” and I would like to use it to do the following:
1. Allow users with the “manage_wordfence” capability to unblock themselves if they are blocked by one of the defined Wordfence rules.
2. Access all the Wordfence pages, Scan, Live Traffic, ETC.
Thanks for your help and thanks for an awesome plugin for free.

I use country blocking and all countries except the USA are blocked. USA is not checked as that’s where I am. When I click on Save I get this
You are about to block your own country. This could lead to you being locked out. Please make sure that your user profile on this machine has a current and valid email address and make sure you know what it is. That way if you are locked out, you can send yourself an unlock email. If you’re sure you want to block your own country, click ‘Confirm’ below, otherwise click ‘Cancel’.
I checked my email and user info and its correct. Why am I getting this and why am I getting blocked out?

I have base64 disabled on my server because of hacker activity. I have wordfence installed on multiple sites on this server, however I only have the problem with 1. On occasion this error shows at the top of the page.
Warning: base64_decode() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/molloy6/public_html/familytireandautoservice.com/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/lib/waf.php on line 1353

And this one when trying to update a post or setting
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/molloy6/public_html/familytireandautoservice.com/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/lib/waf.php:1353) in/home/molloy6/public_html/familytireandautoservice.com/wp-admin/post.php on line 197
I have been through the plugin enable/disable routine and have reinstalled Wordfence, but since it only happens seemingly random that is not a viable process.
Can you help please?

Hey guys,
WordFence has broken my .htaccess file again. It is completely empty.
Can you please add in some code that makes a backup copy of .htaccess before writing changes? Check the file size of .htaccess and if it is greater than 0 please try to make a backup of it ( .htaccess.pre_falcon or something )
This happens when the hosting account runs out of disk space. It clears the .htaccess file but is unable to write the new contents to it.
So please check that making a backup of the .htaccess file worked first (that will let you know if there is free disk space) and then if the backup worked proceed to write the new .htaccess file content.
Do not backup a 0 byte .htaccess file

I was recently hacked and so rebuilt all my sites and reinstalled Wordfence right away but it took me a day before I paid for the Premium version. When I scanned I found a file had still be modifed in a very old theme which I have no deleted. Is there a way to search in any logs somewhere to determine the source IP which changed that file?

I have my /wp-admin folder protected with a .htaccess file and with a long/new password and username just created. Yet, I still get login failures in Wordfence? How is this possible if the /wp-admin folder is locked down with .htaccess? I am also using TFA for logins.

Hi,
I’ve purchased the premium license of WordFence (WF). Recently, I was alerted about an error found during scanning. (Warning: file size(): stat failed for …). Unfortunately, the error message is truncated because it’s too long. Is it possible that in a future release the error message(s) are shown on two or more lines?
Thanks in advance.

I found a file called: wordfence-waf.php
I uninstalled WordFence several months ago. Can I just delete the file?
(I don’t recall the details, but I thought there was a process to uninstall WordFence. If there was, I did follow it.)
Thank you

I have a bespoke form on a site I have created. This is a fairly normal html form but has some file upload components. The files are actually emailed to someone – but also sanitised and stored outside of of public_html briefly before being emailed. The form also has a captcha.
It was working fine for a while now (a couple of weeks) – however tonight I noticed the form wasn’t working when a file is attached and I got the following error instead:
“A potentially unsafe operation has been detected in your request to this site.”
I believe this is an error coming from Wordfence.
I was able to get it to work again by removing the “File Upload (PHP)” rule from the list.
Is this the right way to go about this or is there a safer method?

I am using Wordfence (not premium), and see that despite the firewall each day are multiple, massive attacks from IPs in Russia on my wp-login.php. I am very worried about this, what can be done to block these attacks permanently and protect my site? How is it that they can find my login.php? Please help.
Thank you

I recently tried out WordFence and I’m quite happy with it (jury’s out on server load). When I discovered the Advanced Blocking section I was *very* happy, as I could begin to apply some firewall rules I evolved myself to it.
In my mind the only thing missing (that my own home grown thing does) is the ability to block based on QueryString and/or Form patterns. Thoughts?
