I'm a web developer and I should know better!
I have been happily extolling the virtues of WF to all my clients and installing it for them as a priority... I forgot to do my own site.
Over the weekend someone tweeted me to say my site was redirecting to an adult/drug sales website. I had a look and sure enough I had been hacked. I installed WF and it found a suspicious file or two which I removed. I wasn't happy with just that so I started to take me site apart, I have deleted all the plugins, removed the theme and put my site into maintenance mode.
I'm now going through rebuilding the site and re-installing fresh plugins that I need. The first one on the list was of course WF. I have installed it and it's activated, but it won't grab an API and non of the settings will stick. When I try to add my email to the notification field it goes through the motions of saving and then doesn't. I can cancel the 'tour' pop up but it keeps coming back. It's like non of the settings will behave at all.
I've had a look for the WF tables in the database and I can't find any. I've installed the WF assistant and done all the resets - still no joy. So I'm stumped as to what might be wrong... other than perhaps the hacker somehow put a block on WF re-installing?
Any help would deb greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ian
